I once (in a dream: let's be clear on this) ate a severed head. When I try to
remember that dream, I can still taste it. It had a very mushy texture, as if
the bones of the skull had been dissolved in acid.

This was just before Losing Your Grip came out, and I was going to use it in a
game - it was going to be called "Disturbed", and the point of it was going to
be that you wander through this house whose owner just died, and there are
hints that he was the "Disturbed" person of the title. As the game progressed,
it got more and more graphic, until finally you find the head under the sink.

The "interesting" part was that this was only *one* way it could unfold. If
you responded by eating the head (or doing various other odd actions) it would
turn out that *you* were the insane person. The player's actions would
determine which of two mutually exclusive plots the game would follow.

Was sitting down to plan it out, and having a lot of trouble thinking of other
weird stuff to put in, when I starting seeing posts about, "Whether you decide
to kick the head or dig it out..." and decided that it wasn't novel enough to
be worth any more thought.
