Interesting Facts:
They have a spoon shaped bill that allows them to forage for shrimp and crustaceans. Their pink color is caused by the shrimp they eat.

Interesting Facts:
It is the only bird in North American that has a longer lower beak. It flys above the water with the lower beak skimming the surface and snapping up any prey it encounters.
