Why Are Egg Cases So Important ? |
By:Xochitl B.
One of the most common animals that we now lay there eggs in egg cases is the Lightning Whelk. The Linking Whelk is the state shell. Do you now why do these animals lay there eggs in a cases in stead of laying them in the beach or in the water ? Well one of the reasons that I think is the most important is that the egg case will prectect the babies that are layed in the egg cases from different types of preditors that like to eat the type of animal that was layed in the egg case. There is one that I know of that is carnivorous, it is called the shakrs eye. They call it the shakrs eye because if you look at it really close it does. If you have never seen one I will descibe it to you. It is round with diffrernt colors like baby blue and light green. They do look like a snails back. One more thing that they have is the eye that people say it looks like a shark. What they do is that they drill a hole in its prey and sucks the animal.
